Varahshan Palace
There is one more famous architectural monument in the south part of the Ark Citadel—Varahshan Palace, which was built in the 5th century.
Varahshan palace was active for several centuries; roughly, from the eighth to the ninth centuries. The palace was permanently reconstructed and renewed. However, during its bloom, the palace represented itself as a smooth-running construction.
There were three halls that were called: "western", "eastern" and "red".
The western hall was the tiniest of the three. Its western part had an exit to a wide courtyard with an area of 30x9 meters. All the territory of the inner courtyard was made of burnt bricks. The completely western hall, which was like a courtyard, had rich decorations.
Eastern Hall is a medium-sized space.that was located on the southern side of the hall has an extended form.
At the same time, it forms a certain platform. A big picture of the ruler on the throne and a scene from a royal reception is also located here.
Red Hall This is the biggest hall in the palace. In front of the couch, there are eminences that were used for fire baskets and lamps.
The walls of the red hall are painted with animals and plants, as well as scenes of hunting.
The whole territory of Varahshan palace was constructed at a scaled size and had beautiful, rich decoration with frescos.
The Palace is impressive in its significance, but it remains a desolate location.
This is the oversight of many tour companies. The guides of the "Orient Mice" tour company, on the other hand, will gladly include this location in the list of excursions along Bukhara and will tell interesting stories about this architectural monument.
