Memorial House-Museum of Fayzulla Hodjaev
One of the best Bukharian architects of the 19th century, Fayzulla Hodjaev’s House museum, is functioning in this wonderful city of Bukhara.
Fayzulla Hodjaev was a political and government figure in Uzbekistan (1896–1938). He was born into a family of Bukharian merchant-millionaires, and when he reached seventeen years old, he joined the Jadidizm movement.

In 1918, Fayzulla Hodjaev decided to overthrow the emirate of Bukhara and began preparing for an armed revolution on a large scale.
In 1920-1924, he led Bukhara People’s Soviet Republic, later became Chairman of the Union of Uzbek SSR People’s Commissioners and a representative of the USSR Central Election Commission, and was a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Uzbekistan.
In 1937, he was arrested, and one year later, he was executed by shooting.
