Mosque of Bolo Khouz

The well-preserved architectural monument of medieval culture – the Bolo Khouz ensemble – is located in the well-known Registan square in Bukhara, just in front of the Ark fortress.

The Bolo Khouz Memorial Complex consists of a mosque dated back to 1712 and an aivan built in the 20th century.
The wooden pillars and painted ceiling of Aivan bear witness to unrepeatable originality. Khouz (pool) and a small-sized minaret are just near the mosque. It was erected in 1917. Legends say that the emir himself came down to this mosque to pray.

A stone base was erected for the Guzarian quarterly mosque. It is shaped as a cube. There is a courtyard in the mosque, and an ayvan on wooden pillars.

Our travel agency, «Orient Mice», provides you with pleasure, transport and expert guides who will show you not only Uzbekistan's cities but also the amazing stories about the architectural monuments of Bukhara.
