Sitorai Mohi Hosa Palace
Sitorai Mohi Hosa Palace was the countryside residence of the Bukhara emirs.
The construction of the palace started in the 19th century and continued for several decades.
The idea of the palace's construction belongs to the Emir Abdullahad Khan. He sent several groups of architects to Yalta and St. Petersburg to learn the skills of Russian masters.
Finally, after a couple of trips, the construction of the palace had begun, and it combined eastern and western styles. In the process of building the palace, local workers were involved, as were specially invited engineers from other countries.
Sitorai Mohi Hosa palace was completed under the reign of Alim Khan. The building consists of an inner courtyard with multiple galleries, a main entrance ark, and the house of the emir’s harem.
The palace was rich in decoration in the European-Oriental style, with greenhouses and a big pool.
Mosaic decoration, marble weirs, and sculptures of two marble lions attracted admiring glances from all invited. The main corps consisted of two rooms for reception and a private room for the emir. The halls were decorated with paintings on ganj and wood embroidery. Mirrors fixed to the wall had the form of panels.
The throne room is the focal point of the entire palace. Here, under arcs during grand meetings, comes the whole elite.
Nowadays, one of the branches of the Bukhara local history museum is functioning here.
