Madrasah Modari Khan
Another well-known architectural monument is the ensemble Kosh madrasah, which represents two madrasahs: Madrasah Modari khan (1566) and Madrasah Abdulla khan (1588-1590) in the south-west part of Ark Citadel.
Madrasah Modari Khan was constructed in 1566. Modari Khan Madrasah consists of two palaces. The facade of the madrasah is slanted.
The main entrance to the Madrasah is decorated with high peshtaks and composed of geometric ornaments and flower-turrets. Two-storeyed balconies on both sides have decorations with ceramic panels in the shape of flowers and buds.
In the inner courtyard there are rooms (also two-storeyed) and study rooms which are called "darskhana". Deep Aivan is also there.
Nowadays, madrasah hujras and courtyards are used to organize various fairs, such as handicrafts and folk art.
In a restaurant close to the Madrasah, guests from Bukhara can taste national foods that are prepared via old Bukharian recipes.
