Chashma-Ayub Mausoleum
One of the outstanding places for sightseeing – the Mausoleum Chashma-Ayub – is located in the park of Samanids.
The architectural building was fulfilled in a right-angled form with an enfilade of four rooms. Each of the rooms were built at different times, and the oldest one was constructed with a double dome in the form of a cone.
It is considered that Arslan Shah personally took care of the construction of the mausoleum. Under his patronage, Minaret Kalon was also built. Three other rooms were also erected with domes that duplicate and supplement each other.
A healing spring with cold water still pours out inside the mausoleum.
There are many legends about the Chashma-Ayub mausoleum. One of them says that once upon a time when Bukhara was not there, one of the Bible characters Job came to these places.
Summer time in these places was very hot and dried all around. Local people were burned with thirst and asked for help from the Holy Job. He tapped his stick on the land, and the same spring with cold water came out, and is still coming out.
From here, the second name of the mausoleum – Job Spring – has emerged.
