The Buyan-Kuli Khan Mausoleum is an ancient medieval tomb of the Chagatai Khanate's great khan.It was established on the outskirts in 1358.
Buyan-Kuli was a khan in the 16th century and one of the followers of Seyfaddin Boharzi.
In 1346, Amir Kazagan captured the western part of the Mongol ulus, Chagatay. He appointed Buyan-Kuli as ruler. He reigned over the city on behalf of Kazagan until the son of Kazan came to the throne.
Later, the king was executed, and in the place of his grave, a small mausoleum was erected.
The Mausoleum is bicameral. There is also a hidden corridor. The Mausoleum of Buyan-Kuli Khan was decorated with slips of terra cotta and decorative columns.
Buyan-Kuli Khan had a right-angled plan. The ark on the portal, which in its turn was beautified with unusual geometrical figures and plant ornament, enclosed its façade.
