Hodja-Gaukushon is a big architectural complex of the city and consists of madrasah, minaret and mosque.
A very long time ago, there was biggest market area and place for bullfight. From here the name Gaukushon – "bull killer" came out.
In 16 century, madrasah and mosque with minaret was erected on this place. Djuybar Sheikh – Hodji Saad, financed construction. That was the reason for renaming the place.
Madrasah has unusual form – form of trapezium. It was built in such way with the reason to have better view on the crossing of the road and fit into the city landscape.
