The State Museum of Timurids History
The State Museum of Timurids History is situated in the centre of the capital of Uzbekistan, in a building with large sky-blue domes. The State Museum of Timurids’ History was founded and opened according to the order of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Islam Karimov on October 18, 1996.
The interiors of the museum are made in the tradition of Uzbek art. Artisans from the association "Mussavir" and "Usto" undertook to decorate the walls of the museum. The interior walls of the building are decorated with frescoes of miniature painting, which tells visitors about the life and activity of Amir Timur and the ceiling is painted and covered with gold leaf.
Columns that support building roof stand on all lengths of the round building, and windows have a form of arched niches. The facade of The State Museum of Timurids History is richly decorated too.
In the museum of Amir Timur collected 3,000 different items that connected with the ruler. The collection of the State Museum of Timurids in Uzbekistan includes historic correspondence that tells us about the activity of Amir Temur, jewelry, musical instruments, weapons, various coins, paintings, documents, historical manuscripts and clothing belonging to Timurid’s period.
Here present ornaments, archaeological and ethnographic materials that have come to Amir Timur through merchants that have passed through the Great Silk Road.
