Mukhtar Ashrafi’s House Museum
House Museum of Mukhtar Ashrafovich Ashrafi was opened in 1982 in the same apartment where great musicians lived and worked. Mukhtar Ashrafi lived in this apartment from 1965 till 1975 and the exposition reflects all his creative activity.
Mukhtar Ashrafi – Uzbek director, pedagogue, composer and social figure. Also, he was a People’s Artist of the USSR. Mukhtar Ashrafi was one of the founders of modern Uzbek music.

While walking along the memorial part of the apartment, visitors can observe the set-up of the rooms and see consumer items that the musician used in his life.
One of the rooms of the Mukhtar Ashrafi’s museum was specialized in the creative activity of the great composer and director. His works such as “Legend of Rustam”, “Amulet of love”, “Timur Malik” and many others were exhibited here.
All collection of materials in House Museum tells residents and guests of Tashkent about the works of musicians during the 40-50s. In the years of the 2nd World War, he composed famous symphonies as “Glory to winners” and “Heroic”.
Also, in this hall, you can find documents, handwritings and his first compositions with draft copy, photographs with music notations.
The second room was assigned for chamber concerts, exhibitions and music saloons.
