The Navoi Literary Museum

The State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi of Uzbek Academy of Sciences is one of the largest research and educational monuments of the spiritually elucidative culture of our people.

The State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi of Uzbek Academy of Sciences was founded in 1939. At the same time in this building held the first exhibition of the magnificent poet and genius thinker - Alisher Navoi. The exhibition was organized in honor of the 500th anniversary of the poet, which served as the basis for the creation of a museum.
The State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi has a large collection of documents of the spiritual culture of the Uzbek people. Here, you can be acquainted with the historical facts of the development of literature in Uzbekistan. Many photographs, paintings, manuscripts, notes and other valuable documents were presented for visitors.

On November 18, 1967, according to a government decision, "About the Museum of Literature of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan," the museum acquired the status of scientific and educational institutions of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. His supervisor was appointed to Professor Hamid Sulaymanov.

After 22 years, the museum was transformed into a scientific and cultural institution.
Today, the museum has more than 18,000 different works of art, a collection of applied art, archaeological monuments and unique paintings. There are special departments that are engaged in research literature work in the archive, which has accumulated rich lists of manuscripts and articles.

The research departments will not let anyone, but our people really want to be acquainted with the documents it was decided to publish the manuscript in the collection of scientific articles "Adabiyoti kozgusi."

The State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi of the Uzbek Academy of Sciences presents a collection of more than 65,000 lithographic books. These works of art tell us about the biography and literary work of Uzbek writers and poets of the late 18th and early 19th centuries.

The State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi of Uzbek Academy of Sciences has gradually turned into a historical architectural landmark. Today, it is a member of the ICOM International Council of Museums.
