Samarkand Regional Museum of Local Lore

Samarkand is a city-reserve. That is why here you pay closer attention to environmental protection and the restoration of architectural monuments.

In the most scenic part of Samarkand, the Samarkand Regional Museum of Local Lore is situated. It is located in an old building that was built in the 20th century.
Architect Nele was able to combine several styles in his project: the Mediterranean and European styles. Such famous masters as Usto Shamsi, Usto Hafiz, Usto Sodiq, and many others made the mansion’s decorations. The mansion, with painted walls in the "Ganchos" style and a carved ceiling, is considered an architectural monument of Uzbekistan by itself.

The museum's collection consists of two branches: nature and history. You can see it by booking an excursion.

In the history department, visitors can learn about the history of Uzbekistan, beginning with the original building and continuing until today.
