Mausoleum of Prophet Daniel (Mazar Khodja Daniyar)

The Khodja Daniyar Mausoleum is situated on the Afrasiab hill, near the historical Uzbekistan city of Samarkand.

The mausoleum is located near the healing spring and attracts crowds of tourists every day.
Some believe that Daniel was a biblical prophet, while others associate him with the fellow-soldier of Kusam ibn Abbas. According to one legend, Daniyar was from a noble family and was considered a descendant of King Solomon. When Jerusalem was conquered, the Prophet was captured. However, all the legends come from the fact that he spread religion to many people.

The Prophet Doniyar (as he is known) is revered in three religions: Iuadizm, Christianity, and Islam.

Unfortunately, the sources about the life of the Prophet Daniyar did not survive, and many notes were lost. However, the scientists found out that he had written the manuscript about the Second Coming of Christ and the end of the world. By the way, this book is very similar to the Evangelist John revelation.

Many envied Daniyar’s position and tried to slander him. Once, they even did it, and the Prophet was put to the lions. But God kept him alive and hungry lions did not touch him.
King Cyrus issued a new decree, which released all Jews from oppression. Daniyar showed him a record that had been written about this event. After this, King Cyrus recognized Jehovah's authority and even decided to build a temple in his honor.

The life story of Hodja Daniyar and archaeological excavations point out to us several places of burial for the Prophet. The first is considered Babylon. Amir Timur brought his remains from this place and reburied them in Samarkand.

A strange story happened to the remains of the great Prophet. The horse that was transporting the remains stopped near the hill. On the place where a horse hit a hoof, a healing spring was formed. A few years later, the remains began to grow, and at that moment, the coffin reached 17 meters.

This reason serves as a constant upgrade and renovation of the tomb.

The place where a beautiful mausoleum was built attracts tourists. In the warmer months here, you can see swans, lots of greenery, and flowers. The healing properties of the source treat the body and soul.

Once, even the Patriarch of All Russia, Alexiy the Second, visited the mausoleum of Khodja Daniyar, and hallowed it.

You can visit the Mausoleum of Daniel not only in Samarkand, but also in Turkey, Israel (in several cities-Susa, Jerusalem, and Iraq too).
