Museum of Samarkand History "Afrasiab"
The famed palace "Afrasiab" was a pleasant surprise for the archaeological excavations. It is situated on the territory of another famous settlement, Afrasiab.
In 1965, excavations were completed. By archaeological assumption, the palace, which they found, occupied an area of one hectare. The basis for the walls were wooden columns, and the ceilings were decorated with carvings made by talented artists of that time.

The Museum of Samarkand History has an exhibition about the history of the ancient state from the very beginning of its development. Visitors can see on tourist excursions samples of knives and arrows, swords, and remains of numerous coins, ceramics, and craft products, as well as frescoes from the palace of Afrasiab (7–8th century).
In the south part of the museum, the pictures that were written in the 7th century have been restored. It describes the wedding ceremony at the head of a Chaganian daughter as a bride on a white elephant.
On the eastern part of the palace are shown various birds, animals, and anglers. In addition, on the north wall, hunting with riders on horseback.
Palace Afrasiab had been reconstructed and updated many times, although in the 8th century it was destroyed.
Our travel agency, "Orient Mice," will be happy to provide you with transport, hotel, and professional guides who will show you not only the city, but also tell you amazing stories about the architectural monuments of Samarkand.
