"Hudzhum" carpet factory in Samarkand

A carpet factory, "Hudzhum", is located in a beautiful city, Samarkanand. You can book a tour with an excursion to this historical city in Uzbekistan. More than four hundred young women work in the factory "Hudzhum" and weave silk carpets by hand.

They pull the foundation, paint the threads, and tie the knots. For dyeing silk yarns, they use natural dyes such as walnuts, plant stalks, pomegranate rinds, etc.
One of the main aims of the production of silk carpets is the restoration of ancient patterns, quality, and, of course, do not lose the ancient technology of restoring the natural fabric.

Sаmаrkаnd rugs spread out across the Middle East. Despite the fact that the carpets are made by hand, everyone can afford to buy rugs as a souvenir.

At the carpet factory, you can order a rug with a personal picture (for example, like photos). However, this carpet-picture will cost you a pretty penny, and you will need to wait for the finished product for one or even two years.

Visitors can see the process of production and then buy their favorite product.

Our travel agency, "Orient Mice," will be happy to provide you with transport, hotel, and professional guides who will show you not only the city, but also tell you amazing stories about the architectural monuments of Samarkand.
