Magzum-Bobo Mausoleum

One of the monuments of Samarkand is the mausoleum of Magzum Bobo. It was built in the 19th century. It is located not far from the mausoleum of Hazrat-Khizr Mosque on the south side of Afrosiab. Magzum Bobo was born in the 18th century into an ordinary family in Fergana. He loved Samarkand from early childhood and dreamt about visiting it.
Magzum Bobo lived nearly a hundred years ago and was buried near the mosque of Hazrat Khizr.

In the construction of the mausoleum, great attention was paid to its decor. The south facade was decorated with a large portal. window openings that are made in the form of arches and decorated with inner "portals". This gives uniqueness to the structure.

The main entrance looks into the southeast. The mausoleum of Magzum Bobo includes a special cell and tombs that have been made in a square. Every room has a dome and arched openings.

The walls of the mausoleum were specially made with openings. Vertical slots were used as good ventilation. The mausoleum of Magzum Bobo came to us almost untouched by time due to the use of burnt brick in construction.

Our travel agency, "Orient Mice," will be happy to provide you with transport, hotel, and professional guides who will show you not only the city, but also tell you amazing stories about the architectural monuments of Samarkand.
