Tim and Alla Kuli Khan Caravanserai
When trade with Russia, Bukhara, and Persia began to expand, the ruler of Khiva, Alla Kuli Khan, began to think about expanding the territory for a trading floor.
It was the impetus for the construction of the caravanserai. When he began to erect the caravanserai, he had to destroy one of the walls of the historic inner city (Ichan-Kala).
The caravanserai was not only a place for commerce, but also served as a hotel for strangers and merchants.
After finishing the works, Khan decided to build Tim (a shopping passage), which was attached to the main facade of the caravanserai.
Tim was decorated with polished bricks, which adorned the facade and the main gate. Also present is a curly layout on the diameter of the towers, which are located on either side of Tim’s gate.
