Ak-Mosque

In 1657, during the rule of Anush Khan, a mosque began to be built. Later, it was updated and finished work only in 1838-1842. A small quarter mosque is part of a complex that is situated on the east side of the gate of Ichan-Kala.

On the external walls of the Ak-mosque were carved the names of architects and decorators who worked on the building. These are Kalandar Adin with his son and Nur Mukhammad with his son Sayyid.

In the winter, the building of Ak-mosque located a room for prayers.

The Mihrab of the mosque is located in the center of the southern wall. On the other three walls are located high and low aivans on the columns.

In the windows of the mosque are inserted ganch openwork lattice, and its doors-the master specially covered with ornamental and epigraphic carvings.

All the decoration on the mosque is professional woodcarving.
