Palace of Nurullah-Bay

Nurulla-Bay Palace is located in Dishan-Kala. Dishan-Kala is the name of the historical "outside" of the city of Khiva. The palace was built in the northwestern part.

The idea of erecting an architectural monument belongs to Muhammad Rahim Khan II. He decided to build a palace for his beloved son, Asfendiyar, who later became the khan of this town.
By its construction, the Palace of Nurulla-Bay is very similar to the Sitorai-Hosa palace in Bukhara. Here is also presented a combination of two styles: European and Khiva.

Nurulla-Bay Palace consists of many residential buildings, separate rooms for judgment and Khan’s waiting room, as well as madrassas.

Foreign masters were invited for the decoration of the outside and internal parts of buildings. The German colorists thought about every detail that is present in the frames, floor, and ceiling of the palace. Nurulla-Bay Palace is a magnificent building, which every tourist in Uzbekistan has to see during his historical tour.

Ceramic tiles have been specially created in St. Petersburg.

The entrance hall of the Asfendiyar Khan was decorated with a beautiful ornament of carved and gilded gunch color painting.
