Muhammad Amin Khan's Madrassah

This wonderful building will forever stand.

To their descendants’ joy".

At the gates of Ata-Darvoza, opposite the Kunya Ark, was a massive medieval madrasah, which was named in honor of Muhammad Amin Khan.
The Muhammad Amin Khan madrassah has a size of 71,7 x 60 m, and its courtyard area is about 38 x 38 m.

This theological school was very famous in Khiva. All waqf revenues belonged to it.
The madrassah has balconies and two khujdras. There are 125 hudzhurs. They could accommodate 260 students.

The entrance to the madrassah of Muhammad Amin Khan is decorated with corner towers and a large dome. On the dome is the inscription: "This wonderful building will eternally stand, to our descendants’ joy."

Over the entire length of the madrasah, on the second floor of the loggias, are arched niches.

All the madrassahs of Muhammad Amin Khan were decorated with ornamental carving, majolica, mosaics, and carved ganch bars.

Today, there is a hotel called "Khiva".

Our travel agency, "Orient Mice," is pleased to provide you with transport and professional guides who will show you not only Uzbekistan's capital, but also tell you amazing stories about the architectural monuments of Khiva.
