The Palace of Khudayar Khan
In the great historic city of Kokand, only one building has survived. It was erected by Khudayar and named in his honor. A real palace amazed everyone with its size and rich decoration.

Great masters of Chust, Namangan, Kokand, Ura-Tube, Kanibadam, and even less famous masters-Kashgarians-took part in its construction. The area of the palace reached four ha, and a fundamental part of it rose to 3 meters. Because of the high facade, it was decided to build a special road-ramp.

Initially, the palace's length reached 138 meters, and its width was 65 meters. The Palace of Khudayar Khan included 7 small palaces and 119 rooms. It was surrounded by outer and inner fences, which now have not been preserved until our days.
Today, only 2 courtyards and 19 rooms remain. It is, perhaps, all that remains behind this magnificent architectural monument. Also, extant remains of murals, woodcarvings, and ganch, some writings from the Koran, and blue ceramic plates which decorated the Palace of Khudayar Khan. To the east of the palace, a mosque was built, which was very large. Here, a madrassah was erected.
In 1925, after renovations, it was decided to open the Kokand History Museum in the Palace of Khudayar Khan, where visitors could learn the history of not only the palace, but also the entire region.
