The Emir Madrasah

The Emir Madrasah is situated in the city of Kokand. The Madrasah was built in the 18th century. It was made in the classic-style of that time, and today, it is included in all historical tours of Uzbekistan and historical tours of Kokand.

The frontage length is 30 meters and its width is 21 meters.
The facade was decorated with ornaments in geometric shapes, made of majolica in different colors, and with floral ornaments. In the inner part of the madrasah is a small courtyard (16 by 18 meters).

Khujdras built the entire length of the square building in the courtyard. It was decided that in one part of the room of the Emir's madrasah were students and classrooms, and in the second part was a mosque.

The mosque and classrooms were crowned with blue domes.

It is true that in Soviet times, madrasahs were closed, but today they are working. It is open to all believers and, of course, to tourists who are interested in the historical monuments of Kokand.

Our travel agency «Orient Mice» will be happy to provide you transport and professional guides who will show you not only the city, but also tell an amazing stories about architectural monuments of Kokand.
