The Norbutabi Madrasah

The Norbutabi madrasah and Kokand are part of historical tours to Uzbekistan. The madrasah of Norbutabi is one of the Uzbek tourist attractions.

The Norbutabi madrasah was built in the 18th century in the famous Chorsu Square in Kokand.
A great master of his craft has worked on the construction of the madrassa. His name was Usto Kasymdzhan. He was a Gach carver and builder from Bukhara.

The building turned out to be very massive, despite the fact that it has just one floor.
By the 19th century, the madrasah of Norbutabi was one of the biggest buildings in the city and was considered the center of knowledge. It is an interesting place for a cultural tour.

There are a large number of rooms for the students, as well as rooms where previous students have lived while studying. The total area of the Norbutabi madrasah in Kokand was 52 x 72 meters.

Today, in this spot, is located Jami Mosque. When Uzbekistan gained independence, madrasahs began to work again. More than 80 students lived and trained here.

Our travel agency, "Orient Mice," is happy to provide you with transport, a hotel, and professional guides who will show you not only the city, but also tell you amazing stories about the architectural monuments of Kokand.
