Shymkent
Shymkent is one of Kazakhstan's oldest cities, and as such, it is included in a historical tour of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Shymkent is more than 800 years old today.mentions of it were in the 15th century. Records have been found by an ancient historian by the name of Sharaf al-Din Yazdi.
The historical part of the city, which is hundreds of years old, is situated in the center of Shymkent. It can be seen from all parts of the city as it is located on the highest hill. Shahristan and the citadel have both survived to the present day.
Shymkent, as the ancient city of Kazakhstan, was included in the program of the "Cultural Heritage of Kazakhstan."

In the 19th century, Shymkent became a part of the Kokand Khanate, and in 1864, it was captured by Russian soldiers.
By the end of the 19th century, after numerous attacks on the city, there was almost nothing left. Its streets were devastated, its architectural monuments destroyed almost to the ground.
Only a century later, the city began to develop and grow again.
