Kokshetau

Kokshetau is a small town built on a hill in Kazakhstan's Kokshetau, which local geologists call the "Kokshetau clump." This place has one more name-"Kazakh Switzerland."

The legend of the occurrence of this place is similar to that of the place named "Borovoe".

It narrates that when the Holy created the world, he gifted all the people green forests, high mountains, deep seas, and oceans, but the Kazakhs got only the bare steppe. People began to ask the creator to give them something amazing and beautiful...

From the remaining gifts, God took from his pocket the incredible blue lake, beautiful flowers, and green bushes that stretched on the hills along the lake perimeter.

Also, the Creator has populated these places with plenty of birds, fish, animals, and insects. Thus, this wonderful area was born in the north of Kazakhstan.

The city itself was founded in 1824 and was considered a kind of Cossack village. This lasted until 1868, when the village was not turned into a small county town.

Kokshetau is located near the famous resort of "Borovoe". Just 70 km.

The town itself remained small. Citizens keep it clean and in order.

The amazing beauty of the place also attracts tourists. When you find yourself here, you really get the feeling as if you've hit a little Switzerland, with green meadows, clean air and a small lake.

Nearby the main lake are many small lakes, namely: Small Chebachye, Shchuchye, Karas, Swan, Light, and many others. They allure travelers with their blue and very cold water.

All these lakes are visible from the ridge on which travelers can climb without much trouble.
