Hissar settlement

The village of Hissar is a village, which is located on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan and is considered the center of the Hissar district. It is not far from the capital of Tajikistan and is a well-known tourist destination.
The interstate railroad called "Khanaka" was built through the territory of the village, which brings together the Republic of Uzbekistan with the Republic of Tajikistan. It was opened in 1929.

By the way, through the village of Hissar runs the biggest channel that flows across the territory of the state under the name "Big Hissar," which was built in 1942.

The population of the given place is over 23,000 people. In June 1993, the village of Hissar received the official status of a city, and in 2005, it was again transformed into a village. The history of the ancient village itself is associated with an even more ancient site of an ancient settlement of the same name. According to the documents, which scientists were able to find, prove that people inhabited this place more than 40,000 years ago.

In the annals, they refer to the 11th century. There was a rapidly developing trade in arts and crafts. Until 1921, it was considered the settlement center of the entire Eastern Bukhara.

Currently, the historical and cultural reserve on the territory includes the castle Madrassah (14th century), several mosques (Sangi and Chashmai Mohien, 16th century), the mausoleum Makhdumi Azam (16th century), and a museum with a caravanserai (which now serves as a hotel for visitors).

Many talented people were born on this land. They include sculptors and potters, poets and thinkers, scientists and singers. For example, Irsy, Sobir Zikirzoda, Nosirjon Masumi, Habibullo Nazarov, Adham Kholikov, and many others.

Hissar Valley is also among the attractions in the area. There are rivers such as the Shikent and Kafirnigan. The valley was formed about 4,000–3,000 BC. Its territory was originally a part of Bactria, then the Greco-Bactrian and Kushan kingdoms.
