Tour Dushanbe-Norak-Dushanbe-Istaravshan-Khujand-Iskandarkul-Dushanbe for 4 days

You will have an excursion to the Khatlon region to the city of Norak. You will be able to see the Norak Reservoir, also known as the Tajik Sea. You will cross the tunnels and the Chormazak and Shar–Shar passes. The city of Norak is located on the Vakhsh River, at an altitude of 885 m above sea level, 70 km southeast of the capital Dushanbe. The city is home to about 19,000 people. The name of the city comes from the former village of Nurek, which means "pomegranate". The city itself was built from 1960 to 1980 . The city was originally built to support the dam. The height of the Nurek Dam ranks first in the world, 300 m (984 ft). The dam is located in a deep gorge along the Vakhsh River in the western part of Tajikistan. We will make a stop to capture all the beauty in photos. At the end of the tour, you will return to Dushanbe. Overnight at the hotel.

Today you will go to Khujand. On the way you will cross the Shahristan Pass, located at an altitude of 3,378 m. On the way we will make a stop to visit Istravshan. In ancient times, this city was the center of trade and crafts in Central Asia. Istaravshan is rightfully called a museum city. The history of the city begins from the II-VI centuries BC. In Persian literature, the city is referred to as Kurukuda, in Sogdian ancient records - as Kurushkuda, while modern scholars identify it with Kiraspol or Cyrus Eshata, founded in the VI century BC by Cyrus the Great. You can visit Mugtepa, the fifteenth-century Kuk Gumbaz Mosque and the local bazaar.

Today you will return to Dushanbe. On the way you will cross the Anzob Pass and the Istiqlol Tunnel. On the way you will be able to see a large number of mountain passes. We will make a couple of stops to capture all the beauty in photos. Dushanbe is not only the capital of Tajikistan, but also the largest city. The name of the city means "Monday" in Tajik. In ancient times, there was a village on the site of the city, which was popular for its market on Mondays. Thus, this area received such a name. In 2012, the population of Dushanbe was 1,000,000 people.
