Aktobe (Aktyubinsk)

The capital city of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Aktobe, which is located on the banks of the river Ilek, was erected in 1869. This town was built near the fortress called Aktobe, which translates as "White Hill."

 

Aktobe is one of the ancient cities of Kazakhstan, and it is entered into a historical tour of the Kazakhstan travel company «Orient Mice».

In the 20th century, the railway was carried through Aktyubinsk, which in turn led to the great development of this small town.

In the spring of 1932, the city became the center of the entire Aktobe region. After a lapse of 30 years, there began large-scale construction of high-rise buildings, factories, and museums.

In 1977, the year of Aktyubinsk's becoming the center of the West-Kazakhstan railway, After 22 years, in 1999, Aktyubinsk was renamed Aktobe.

Aktobe is considered the birthplace of more than 30 heroes of the Soviet Union. There they trained Alia Moldagulova, Chaganak Bercy lived and worked, cosmonaut Viktor Ivanovich was born there, and many other famous people were also born there.

Aktobe landmarks are very closely intertwined with modern buildings.
