Ceramic Workshop of Rustam Usmanov

Rishtan stands out for its pottery among other cities in Uzbekistan. In this cultural city, in ancient times, artisans developed a special technology which craftsmen saved till today, passing down from generation to generation their secrets.

Rishtan pottery has its own distinctive features. First, it is a shape, colors, and, of course, ornamentation.
The dark blue, brown, and turquoise colors give Rishtan pottery its uniqueness and peculiarity. A natural pattern created with light and easy brushstrokes. This manner is called "free brush."

Rustam Usmanov is known not only in Rishtan but also abroad. He graduated from the Tashkent Institute of Theatre and then devoted his life to ceramics.

By studying the book, watching the works of other artists and regularly visiting museums, Rustam gains experience and practice. He developed his own style and added particularity to ceramic products. His patterns are considered to be perfect.

A ceramic workshop was established at Rustam’s home, where the young master spent all his time creating masterpieces. When his three children were grown up, Rustam Usmanov handed down all his secrets to them. Now they work together.

The best work stays at home-in a small family museum. The rest of the products for sale
