Fergana Regional Museum

The Fergana Regional Museum is the oldest museum in Uzbekistan. It was built thanks to the first regional exhibition of industry and agriculture, which was held in 1894.

Part of these exhibits became one of the first collections of the museum. Later, the exhibition was enlarged by donations from people who were not indifferent to the fate of the museum.

In 1895, the governor of the Fergana region organized a committee that worked on the development of the Fergana regional museum.

The museum consists of four rooms from the house. In 1899, it was moved to a wing of the governor's house. At that time, the number of exhibits grew to 2,223 different items.
Due to a cessation of donations and cash flow, the museum had to be closed in 1911. The museum could not survive without the support.

Ten years later, the doors of the museum have opened again. New halls were opened, where there are exhibits of historical documents and photos. Then appeared materials relating to the war years.

Today, the exposition of the museum is considered one of the richest collections in the Fergana Valley. It has over 80, 000 items.

For example, ceramics and bronze, books and tools, photos, cemeteries, decorative arts and jewelery, embossing, and many others.

A large portion of the fund was used to purchase relics from Uzbekistan's ancient and modern history, as well as various documents.

The Regional Museum includes seven branches:

• U. Yusupov Memorial Museum;
• Hamza Hakimzade Niyazi Museum;
• Memorial Museum to Yu Akhun-Babayev;
