Uzgen

In ancient times, Uzgen was considered the capital of the Karakhanid Khanate. It is located in the southern part of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, near Osh.

Its territory is spread in not only Kyrgyzstan but also «captures" the Fergana Valley in Uzbekistan. Accordingly, a large part of the city’s population is Uzbek. The total number of people is equal to 55.000 people.

By itself, the town is very small. Not more than 20 enterprises work here. At the same time, Uzgen is one of the most ancient cities in Kyrgyzstan, which is why it attracts tourists.

The city of Kyrgyzstan appeared about 1-2 centuries BC and was considered one of the main points on the route of caravans and merchants of the Great Silk Road.

In the 12th century, Uzgen became the capital of the eastern Karakhanid khanate. In those days, the historical architectural complex was erected, which survives to this day. It consists of several mausoleums with a minaret, a mosque, and a madrasa.

Today, travelers can visit other architectural monuments that are protected by international organizations.

Not far from the town are the tourist center "Salam-Alik" and the recreational zone "Kara-Shoro". Every year, residents and tourists come here to relax.

In addition, the city has a large number of monuments to famous personalities. For example, Manas Monument, Salizhan Shakirovich Sharipov (Russian cosmonaut and Hero of Kyrgyzstan), Madazimov Rahmonberdi (founder of the theater movement) and many others.

Uzgen can be divided into two parts: upper and lower. In the Upper Town, they built enterprises and modernized various shops. In the lower city, settled sleeping areas
