Dungan mosque
In 1877, in the historic city of Karakol, were registered records about refugees who had opened a community.

Barskaun gorge is close to the touristic city of Kyrgyzstan, Karakol (90 km from the city). It is located near the village of the same name and it stretches for 30 km.

A very sad legend is connected with it. Once upon a time, a female leopard gave birth to three leopards. On one of the darkest nights, she left the kids in the den and she went hunting.
When she returned from her long and arduous hunt, she discovered her kittens had fallen and died on mountain cliffs. She began to cry, and her tears turned into a roaring waterfall.
Also, there are other well-known waterfalls such as: "Champagne Bubbles," Aksakal’s beard," and "Manas’ Bowl," etc.
Some shallow rivers that flow into the main river Barskaun are considered auriferous. If you look closely into the water in good sunny weather, you can see the gold sparkles and shimmers in the sunlight.

Karavshin gorge
