Tour Ashgabat-Yangykala-Ashgabat for 2 days

Today we will visit one of the most beautiful natural places in Turkmenistan – the Yangikala canyons, located 165 km north of Balkanabat and 160 km east of Turkmenbashi. The word "yangikala" means "fiery fortresses" in Turkmen. It got its name because of the sheer cliffs of white, yellow, ochre, purple, and red. The rocks resemble stone castles from science fiction movies. At sunset, you will get a fascinating panoramic view. During this period of the day, everything is painted a fiery red. Once, the depth of the canyons was equal to the depth of the ancient sea. You can take a walk in the natural sculpture park of compressed soil crumbling in your hands. In the first half of the day, you will visit the fortress of Gokdepe and the horse farm. In December 1880, the Fortress of Gokdepe was attacked by the Russians under the command of General Mikhail Skobelev. The siege of Gokdepe lasted twenty-three days, after which the city was taken by storm. The Gokdepe Mosque was built in memory of the defeat. Gokdepe is popular for its mint-turquoise roof and white marble structure. You will also visit the Gokdepe Museum, dedicated to the war. At the horse farm, you can see Akhal-Teke horses. This is the pride of the Turkmen people. There are more than 30 beautiful horses on the horse farm. In the afternoon, you will visit the "Old Nisa"—the Sanctuary of the Parthian Kings. Nisa existed for 600 years and was the capital of the Parthian Empire. She was the greatest enemy of the Roman Empire. At the moment, it is a UNESCO site. The tour will continue with a visit to the Jipjak Mosque and the family mausoleum of the first President of Turkmenistan. Then you will visit the Russian Bazaar, Lenin Square, and the Ertugrul Gazi Mosque. In the evening, you will have a city tour. You will visit the main tourist attractions: the Arch of Neutrality and the Wedding Palace. After the tour, you will go to the airport.
