It is estimated that currently the population of Kyrgyzstan is equal to more than 6 million people.

The indigenous people of Kyrgyzstan – is Kyrgyz. They accounted more than 72%. The second are Russian and only then followed such nationality as Uzbeks, Ukrainians, Tatars, Germans and other nationalities.


Uzbeks mostly occupied land in the Fergana Valley in the south part of the Republic. They can be found in Osh (49%) and Uzgen (90%).

The main part of the population lives in the major cities of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, while a small part of the population – in the villages. Also present and nomadic herders.


When the Republic gained independence, in the cities of the country more events take place, due to which establish friendly relations between all ethnic groups who live in Kyrgyzstan.
