In the picturesque high-altitude region of Fergana at an altitude of 1500 m above sea level is the resort of Shakhimardan. A great place for those who want to immerse themselves in the wildlife atmosphere while enjoying its sounds. You can find this place on the Alai Ridge washed by the Oka-Su and Kok-Su rivers on both sides. Just 7 kilometers from the recreation area is the high-mountain Blue Lake, a cable car leads to it.
In the 1930s, there was an exchange of territories between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, so Shakhimardan became part of Uzbekistan. Once, this place was named in honor of the Uzbek poet Hamza Hakim-zade Niyazi. However, in March 1929, Khamzu was brutally murdered. In 1989 it was the centenary of the birth of the founder of Uzbek drama. In memory of such a legendary man, a museum was opened and a monument erected, which anyone can visit and learn more about history.
