Cholpon-Ata

The famous resort town called Cholpon-Ata is located in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, on the shores of the Issyk-Kul Lake. The name of the city is translated from Kyrgyz as "Father of the stars."

 

This small town became popular due to its mineral waters, with many underground springs.

The city of Cholpon-Ata is considered to be very ancient. It is mentioned in written records that date back to the first millennium BC.

Petroglyphs carved on the 42 stones this place is locally called "the stone garden." It is a holy place.
